How very fortunate the staff of Baby Alexandra feels to have been involved with the selections of so many nurseries and child rooms. It is truly a pleasure to see them evolve straight from the mother's heart. Please view our gallery of showcase rooms as a sampling of what our customers have designed. As you will see, it is possible to have a beautifully decorated room that truly reflects your taste and the personal style of your family.

Designing a Nursery Just for You
What do you really need for baby's new nursery? Necessities, Fully-decorated and Uber:Nursery Categories show you!
Necessities:
Crib
Crib Bumper (padded and pillow-like, these tie around the inside of the crib)
Crib Skirt (17" is recommended for when the crib is at the highest level)
Comfy Chair (big enough for dad) to rock & nurse baby
Wastebasket
Outlet Covers
Radio/CD Player (to soothe baby to sleep with music)
Fully-decorated:
Crib
Crib Bumper (padded and pillow-like, these tie around the inside of the crib)
Crib Skirt (17" is recommended for when the crib is at the highest level)
Crib Coverlet (used to cover baby for sleeping, on the floor for playing or thrown on the back of chair for dÚcor)
Comfy Chair (big enough for dad) to rock & nurse baby
Wastebasket
Outlet Covers
Radio/CD Player (to soothe baby to sleep with music)
Ottoman
Changer/Dresser (we recommend a changer that can grow with baby and convert into a regular dresser)
Sconces
Mirror (mirrors are great for kids to become more comfortable with themselves. Over the dresser always looks nice; full-length offers a full-view when dancing!)
Toy Box (clears up clutter)
Floor Lamp & other lighting (lighting is essential for reading bedtime stories; should coordinate with bedding for overall aesthetic look)
Picture Frames
Name Signs (child's name on wall)
Wipe Box; Tissue Cover
Uber:Nursery Add-on's to Fully-Decorated
Monogrammed pillow for chair with baby's initials that matches crib bedding
Chandelier over crib (there are fabulous boy-oriented chandeliers too!)
Window Treatments (coordinating with baby bedding)
Artwork (this can really bring the whole room together)
Fabric Bulletin Board (perfect for hanging precious keepsakes such as pictures of cousins and grandparents)
Custom Knobs (hand-painted knobs to coordinate with dÚcor for furniture pieces)
Framed birth announcement (great keepsake)
Armoire (wonderful storage unit as child grows up and has many collections!)
Throw Rug
End table
Bookcase (it is never too early to encourage reading. Obviously great for the ever-growing book collection and nice way to display framed pictures of loved ones)
Artist (you don't necessarily have to go 'crazy' with painting but an artist can make your child's room uniquely yours. Pull an element from your fabric and transfer it into a wall design. For example, take the stripe from a pillow and stripe your walls under a chair rail; paint the floral from the bumper as a border 20 or so inches down from your crown molding around the room; take a solid color and create painted drapes around a closet door; paint a regal, fairy-tale headboard about the crib. Be whimsical!

Coat Rack
Helpful hint: Euro Shams that coordinate with bedding and window treatments placed on top of an open toy box really neaten up the toy box appearance and flows with the rest of the room
Safety Tip: Don't place lighting on changing table, even small lamps. Babies love to grab everything and anything in sight.
To Grammy's House We Go
With your elevated status to Nonnie, Grandma, Grammy, Mimi and Mawmaw, you will need a few things of your own to make grandmother's house a pleasant place to visit (thus increasing visits from daughter and daughter-in-law's and thus seeing precious grandchild as much as possible). Everyone works within their own budget but the goal is to have your children pack up as little as possible to visit you and to make each visit as stress-free as possible. If your grandchildren are constantly hearing 'no touch, no touch' because they have nothing to play with but your crystal collection on the coffee table, you can bet visits will be short and infrequent.
Stroller
Crib with bedding (or pack n play)
Special Blankie
Exersaucer
Toys (age-appropriate)
Bottles & formula (if necessary)
Sippy cups
Snacks & baby food
Car Seats
Radio (this is always forgotten! But, with first baby, most moms comfort their newborns to sleep with background noise. Make sure you buy the same cd for your house!)
Clothes & jammies
Outlet covers & Safety latches
